DIY 3D Wooden Puzzle Robot Music Box

If you’re looking for the perfect desk partner, then it’s hard to look past Orpheus – the adorable robot you build yourself from laser-cut wooden sheets. This is both a fun and challenging build that, when finished, rewards you with a quirky companion that lights up and plays a tune.

I love model building and when I discovered Orpheus, I couldn’t wait to introduce him to you. He features an LED that lights up his heart and a wind-up music box that plays the classic Can’t Take My Eyes Off You by Frankie Valli. As the music plays, gears and a propellor rotate on top of his head.

Everything you need to build Orpheus is included in the kit, apart from 2 button batteries, that you can pick up from most places including Bunnings.

Orpheus is part of the Robotime SteamPunk Music Box range which also features Seymour the dog and Space Vehicle.

The kit comes with 220 laser-cut wood pieces and you’re supposed to build the entire thing yourself. That’s a lot of parts, making this more of a 3D puzzle than anything.
